Where to swim

The Westfjords have approximately one-third of Iceland's coastline, so there are plenty of suitable places to go swimming. It appears, though, that some people find sea-swimming to be somewhat too cold, and thus prefer heated pools, hot tubs and saunas. Ísafjörður municipality has four public swimming pools. The opening hours for the summer of ´16 are below. Note that on public holidays the hours might change.
